The Cleveland Institute of Music announces an exciting new partnership with the Sphinx Organization and Case Western Reserve University (CWRU) that brings the prestigious Sphinx Performance Academy (SPA) to its practice rooms and performance halls. SPA is a cornerstone program of the Sphinx Organization’s mission to build diversity in the classical music world through educational programs, artistic development and arts leadership. Through the SPA, Sphinx provides full scholarships to an intensive chamber music and solo performance program designed for aspiring Black and Latino string players, ages 12-17. For two weeks of inspired music making, CIM and CWRU will host 32 aspiring young musicians from around the country.
